Welcome To My Account – Canaccord Genuity's Internet Account Access Service
|
|
My Account is one of many services available to Canaccord Genuity's clients. You
will be able to use the power of the internet to view your account holdings, activity,
pending trades and information about your plan accounts whenever you want, from
home or from the office.
This document will give you the information you need to get started with My Account.
Please take the time to become familiar with this service so you can use it to its
fullest advantage.

1. Before You Get Started
|
|
Before you apply for your My Account User Name and temporary password you should
make sure that your internet browser meets Canaccord’s minimum requirements:
- Internet browser: Netscape version 6.0 or Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher
- Cookies enabled
- Internet connection
- Internet email client (i.e. Netscape,Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, HotMail, Eudora)
We also recommend that your browser have 128-bit encryption if available in your
region.

2. Setting up your My Account
|
|
Both English and
French versions of
our My Account registration form are available on the sidebar (the form is in Adobe
PDF format). If you do not have Adobe Reader, we recommend you visit the Adobe site
at (
http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html) and download and install
this free viewer. Alternatively, your investment advisor can arrange to fax or mail
the application to you.
Complete the form with your most recent information and return it to your investment
advisor by fax or mail. Within a few days you will receive an email confirming your
new My Account User Name and temporary password. Please keep this information in
a secure location. Do not divulge your User Name or password to others. At this
point, your online account is active and available to you 24 hours a day.

3. Using My Account
|
|
To access your accounts, click the My Account tab on the Canaccord website. A login page will appear. Type your User
Name and password into the respective boxes. Click the ‘Enter’ button. If your internet
browser prompts you to accept a cookie, you must respond "Yes".
The first time you log in to My Account you will be prompted to change your password.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
When you are finished, click on the ‘Log Off’ button to end your session. Please
note: You will automatically be logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity
on your computer. For added security, you should shut down your browser when all
your financial inquiries are complete. Restart your browser to continue using the
internet.
You cannot simultaneously log in to My Account on different computers or on the
same computer with different browsers. Only one login per session is allowed.

4. Viewing your information
|
|
Once you have logged in to My Account, a menu will always appear on the left-hand
side of your screen.
Clicking any of the headings in this menu will display your choice in the main body
of your internet browser. More detailed information, if available, can be displayed
by clicking on an account number.
To retrace your steps, click on the ‘Back’ button of your internet browser. Alternatively,
you can select another area from the menu on the left.
Please remember that for your security there is a 15-minute timeout setting on account
access. Should you be timed out, you must return to the login page and log back
in to re-establish the connection.
If there is not enough area onscreen to display your full account information, scroll
bars will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

5. Information Available
|
|
The top five headings in the left-hand menu will allow you to extract information
about your accounts.
Holdings – provides a detailed list of the cash and investments in each of
your accounts. Price and Market Value are based on the closing price from the previous
trading day.
Activity - lists all transactions (including buys, sells, distributions,
deposits, withdrawals, etc.) for each account. If the list is long, a scroll bar
will appear on the right hand side of the screen that will allow you to scroll down
to the bottom of the list.
Plan Info – provides information about your plan account such as beneficiary,
contribution history and foreign content.
Pending Trades - allows you to view a current list of trades that are pending
for each of your accounts.
Portfolios- shows you a breakdown of your accounts by asset class, including
weightings.

6. About Cookies
|
|
My Account uses "cookie" technology to maintain a connection with you. A cookie
is a file containing a small amount of information stored on your PC that is intermittently
sent to and from our web server. This cookie provides us with information that enables
us to ensure that each request for information is really from you and that the information
delivered is only to you. Most internet browsers default to accepting cookies automatically.
If your browser does prompt you to accept or decline a cookie, you must ‘Accept’
in order for My Account to work properly.

7. Printing from My Account
|
|
You may print detailed information whenever you choose. To do so, first click on
the ‘Printable Version’ on the top right of the page displaying the information
you would like to print. Select ‘File’ from the top pull-down menu, then select
‘Print’ and then click the ‘OK’ button to start printing.

8. Help Options
|

- For technical assistance, you can get support via e-mail or by calling our
Client Support line at 1.866.444.4495.
- There is a Frequently Asked Questions section that has answers
to other questions you may have about My Account.
Although we provide the convenience of contacting us using standard internet e-mail,
it is important to remember that standard e-mail does not employ encryption and
other security features. We recommend that you never include passwords or other
private and confidential information in your communications with us.
